Heres what BHPian anjanc2007 had to say on the matter: Glad to read that you still own a Hero Puch, once a very sought after light, two-wheeler. #Puch moped value mods
Puch is Austrian, parts are generally a bit easier to find, some people don't like ZA50s because they can be a bit harder to tinker with than an E50 and if you do a lot of performance mods they can be a bit delicate. Puch Magnum-this one's probably worth more simply because top tanks, and Magnums in particular, are pretty desirable. The Harvard model is a pretty unremarkable but good quality step-through tube frame model. Negrini Harvard-by 'optional' Morini I assume you mean an MO2. If you're somewhere else (midwest, south) it's maybe on the high side, although I've certainly seen Magnums go for more than $825 in the midwest too. I'm totally new to this world but these both seemed to be incredible deals for a beautiful product (and piece of history). I guess ultimately I am curious which of these 2 bikes is the better investment in terms of bike longevity, durability, ease of sourcing replacement parts, and intrinsic value/ rarity. Both seem to be in good condition and totally repaired to a high standard with working head and tail lights and horn, though the puch needs a reseal of the tank eventually and has a torn seat. The Puch has a za50 2 stroke engine (mileage unknown). The Negrini is all original (stickers and everything) with the optional Morini engine (with 37 miles on it).
